Literally Mediterranean

Literally Mediterranean brings the Day of Typography, an international event inaugurated at Rote Fabrik of Zurich in 1989, to southern Europe. In particular, this special edition will insight in the typographical culture of the Mediterranean. The rich itinerary will cross Turkey, Lebanon, Spain and Italy exploring the typography of Arab, Latin and roman characters. Characters as sculpture, accents that grab our attention and fix our gaze to a specific point in space, characters that dance in bi-dimensional harmony, signs that reflect as if floating on a warm sea, these observations will show how the character of a culture take form. Internationally renowned speakers will evoke their sources of inspiration as they translate culture into a contemporary language of visual signs.
